Our next round of Spiritual Development classes are coming up. These classes are important steps in your spiritual journey as you move from making Calvary your church home to becoming a mature disciple of Jesus. To attend, simply mark the box on the back of your Connection Card this Sunday of the class you wish to attend (classes are to be taken sequentially so mark 101 if it is your first class, or mark the next class that you haven't attended). Childcare will be provided.
Life is difficult, and it helps to have a plan for navigating your way through it. Unfortunately, many of us don't really plan out our lives. On our next Big Day (February 12) Pastor Dan will begin a new teaching series from the book of Nehemiah that focuses on developing a plan for life. In your seats this Sunday you will find invite cards that you can give to your friends, family, and co-workers to invite them to our Big Day. Begin thinking now about who you will invite.
Jesus Saves! This workshop will focus on teaching stewardship over home and finances. Learn the way to save the most money on all the daily necessities for your home, and how we can share our wealth with others. There's nothing "extreme" about smart shopping and preparedness! Sunday Nights at 7pm at Calvary Church.
Serving in Children's Ministry is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the next generation of believers. We are currently in need of people to help with our Sunday morning programs on a regular basis (weekly for one service, bi-weekly, once a month, etc.) and for individuals to be available to substitute for one of our regular helpers on an as-needed basis. If you are interested in being part of this fun and exciting ministry, simply check the "Children's Ministry" box on the back of your Connection Card this Sunday.
It's a new year, and what better time to get to know more people and grow closer in your walk with God? Growth Groups are the perfect way to do this, and we have some good ones starting up. Make sure to check the Growth Group guide provided this Sunday to learn about what groups are starting, and how you can sign-up.
January 23-25. Night of Worship, Wed,. Jan. 25 @ 7pm
As we embark upon a new year and set goals for our lives, the best way to do this is to spend time in prayer and fasting about what God has in store for each of us individually, and corporately as a church. On January 23 we will begin a 3-day fast which will end on Wednesday January 25 with a Night of Worship and break of the fast. Begin preparing now for how you will seek the Lord during this time of reflection, Scripture, and prayer. Let us know you will be participating by writing "Fast" on your Connection Card this Sunday.
2011 brought us many different, and interesting things to think about concerning Biblical prophecy and the end times that are detailed in Scripture. Starting Jan.8, Pastor Dan will be teaching an updated series on End Times that will include insights to recent world events as well as a refresher of how biblical prophecy shows that we are experiencing the "birth pains" of the coming fulfillment of biblical end times prophecies. You won't want to miss this exciting and informative teaching.
