We love families and we love getting connected with other families.  Here are all of the events happening for each area of our Family Ministry

For All Families

In our Elementary groups we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud and good leaders always care. The focus is our small group environment. We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last. That’s why we dig into God’s Word, examine it and test it each week and why your children should BE THERE!

Calvary Kids is our preschool environment for children newborn through 5 year olds not in kindergarten. Our goal is to teach every child that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

We know that leaving your children for the first time can be overwhelming. The volunteers in our infant/toddler nurseries have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies/toddlers and their training to care for all of the needs of your child. We hope that the following information will help you and your baby/toddler have a great experience on Sunday morning.

  • Please bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers, and any special blankets that will soothe your child through the morning.
  • Label all items that belong to your baby
  • Please inform the volunteer at the classroom door of your baby’s eating and napping schedule and any other information that will make this a good stay.

TWO – FIVE YEAR OLDS (not in kindergarten)

These are fun and active stages in your child’s life. We are excited to have them in class and look forward to teaching them truths from God’s Word.

Our teaching plan begins at age two. All activities are age-appropriate with plenty of flexibility for the normal needs of each age group.

While we seek to teach your children about God, we know that no one has more influence on their lives than you. We want to partner with you to help them learn about their Heavenly Father.

Each week your children will learn a Bible story and participate in fun, creative activities that teach the one key truth for the month.  Games and crafts correlate with the Bible story for the day.

We also provide a snack in class. Snack is usually cheerios, goldfish or animal cookies. If we are serving something else that goes with the lesson, you will find a note posted on the door outside of your child’s classroom informing you of the new food item. If your child has any allergies or special dietary needs and cannot eat what we have provided, please inform the teachers and bring an appropriate snack for them.

Be sure to bring extra diapers and a change of clothes. If your child is potty training, please be sure to communicate that to the teacher. We ask that they wear a pair of pull ups to the classroom. Volunteers are not allowed in the restrooms alone with children. They will assist them with clothing (as needed) outside the door and with hand washing afterwards inside the classroom.

Please do not bring extra toys to class since it is hard to distinguish what belongs to whom. This can cause children unnecessary frustration when they are asked to share something that was brought from home.

Your children, ages 2-5, will be promoted to their next classroom during our Promotion Sunday which takes place in August.

We hope this information has been helpful and that your child’s Sunday is GREAT! If you have any further questions, please contact Natasha here.
