Children’s Ministry
Welcome to the Children’s Ministry at Calvary Church! We are so glad that you’ve chosen to check us out and look forward to meeting you and your family. Please know that you are a welcomed guest, and we hope that you and your children have a wonderful first experience with us. The first thing we want you to know is that our Children’s Ministry is not a babysitting service or childcare.
Our Children’s Ministry is a high energy, fun and creative place for kids of all ages to experience the Word of God and learn to love and live for Jesus. Our staff and volunteers have worked hard to create a safe and meaningful class experience. Here are a few things to help your visit go smoothly:
When to Arrive: We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes prior to the service you are attending.
Registration/Security check-In: Based on ages/birthdates, your children will be assigned and escorted to classrooms. When you visit again, they can be checked right into the same classroom they attended the week before. At your first visit you will be asked to fill out a small informational form so we can put you into our system. If you would like to save some time, you can download the form (HERE), print it out, fill it out and bring it to the registration desk. Your children will receive a computer printed nametag to be worn at all times while in class. You will receive a number/letter combination claim ticket that you will need to present in class when picking up your children.
Our Sunday Children’s Ministry is divided into three ministry areas:
Calvary Kids is our preschool environment for children newborn through 5 year olds not in kindergarten. Our goal is to teach every child that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
Faith Lab is for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. In Faith Lab we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud and good leaders always care. The focus in Faith Lab is our small group environment. We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last. That’s why we dig into God’s Word, examine it and test it each week and why your children should BE THERE!
ZONE 56 is our ministry to 5th and 6th graders. Using Group’s Hands On curriculum provides some age relevant teaching with an interactive fast paced lesson plan. There’s never a dull moment in class with the lively discussion, interactive object lessons and a time of In - Depth Bible study. Your preteens won’t want to miss it!
Here are the steps to make sure your kids have a great time and don’t miss out…
Step One Get up and go to church! We will do everything we can to make it worth the trip.
Step Two Sign your kids in at the information center in the Children’s Ministry Building as early as possible. You can sign your child in 30 minutes before the next service begins.
Step Three Get your children into class as soon as possible so they don’t miss a single minute! Children can enter class 15 minutes before the next service begins so you won’t be late for your worship time in the auditorium!
Step Four Go home and figure out a way to have some quality family time during the week – then come back and let us minister to you and your children again!
